2-year full time Postdoctoral Researcher in chemical oceanography, Institute of Marine Research, Tromsø, Norway

The Institute of Marine Research (IMR) has available a 2 year position (with an option for 2 years extension), for a postdoctoral researcher to work on variations, drivers, and trends of ocean acidification and carbon chemistry in Norwegian waters and in the Arctic Ocean. The position is placed in the research group Oceanography and Climate. Work will start as soon as possible, and the position will be located in Tromsø, Norway.

Candidate requirements

The requirements for the position are as follows, where the candidate must have:

  • PhD in chemical oceanography, marine chemistry or equivalent
  • Experience with the use of instrumentation such as VINDTA or equivalent equipment for analyzing the marine carbonate system
  • Good understanding of marine carbonate chemistry and drivers in this system
  • Ability to present scientific results orally and in writing in English
