OA-ICC December calendar: 9/12 – “ O & A were sitting in a tree…”

Count down the days until 2015 together with the OA-ICC! Each day of December you will find a short story on the OA-ICC news stream highlighting an ocean acidification project, effort, or resource.

Discover the first one below: “O & A were sitting in a tree…”

Public literacy in OA is the prerequisite for efficient science-based policy making. What other better way of working towards a healthy future for our oceans than educating young generations on ocean acidification? Efforts to communicate about OA in an age-adapted and engaging way will result in increased awareness about and sensitivity to the undergoing global ocean change.

The Ocean Acidification Virtual Lab developed by University of Stanford and partners is one of the best examples of such an approach to OA “schooling”. It provides a fun interactive learning platform and is available in several languages. Make sure to test it in your classroom by following this link!
