Abstract
This project aims to ignite curiosity and develop environmental empathy, this lesson empowers students to become ocean advocates by exploring how climate change impacts marine species across global climate zones. By translating complex scientific phenomena—such as ocean acidification, Blue Carbon, and the Whale Carbon Pump—into creative drama and news broadcasts, students build critical scientific literacy, collaboration skills, and a proactive commitment to protecting our shared ocean planet.
Description
Children will understand how global warming and ocean acidification impact marine animals and their natural habitats. They will explore how marine ecosystems capture carbon (focusing on Blue Carbon and the Whale Carbon Pump). They will work collaboratively to communicate scientific concepts through a creative news broadcast or drama performance.
