Objectives: Through learning about ocean acidification, teachers will develop maritime and place-based projects that will grow students understanding in science and beyond. Teachers will increase student engagement by learning and applying best practices including: workshop model, thinking strategies, project-based learning, and cooperative learning.
Description: The session will include hands on experience, and observation in the feild with scientists and specialists. An additional day will be devoted to ocean acidification place-based curriculum development. Projects can include rain gardens, olympia oyster research, and hand-on lessons that are a part of this dynamic professional development. Clock hours and hourly pay for Port Townsend staff available
