Postdoctoral Fellow: Ocean Acidification/Chemical Oceanography, Auckland University of Technology

The School of Science, Auckland University of Technology, seeks to hire a postdoctoral fellow to join our Ocean Acidification research team.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in chemical oceanography or related field and experience with the carbonate chemistry of seawater, analyses of alkalinity, dissolved inorganic carbon and inorganic nutrients. You will conduct a series of laboratory experiments to discern the effects of CO2 perturbations on the sediment-seawater exchange of dissolved inorganic nutrients and underlying microbial processes.

A strong publication record, in-depth understanding of the biogeochemistry of marine sediments, willingness to conduct regular seagoing field trips and to supervise the ocean acidification research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students will be an advantage.

This is a full-time, two-year appointment. The position is based in Auckland, New Zealand. It is anticipated that the position will commence no later than November 1, 2016.
