The Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) expressed an urgent need to update and develop their specific work plan on coral bleaching in a multiple stressors scenario, most notably with regards to the projected impacts of ocean acidification . Interested parties (Member States, governments, relevant organizations, indigenous and local communities) were invited to contribute to the formulation of a draft addendum by submitting scientific and technical information, case studies, tools and guidance and relevant management plans at sub-national, national or regional levels.
The initial deadline for the submission of proposals was 15 January 2014. Submissions are still being accepted until 14 March 2014.
