BIOS Explorer 2013 – ocean acidification (video)

Under pressure: How sea life is impacted by rising CO2 levels.

This year, The BIOS Explorer Program is “Expedition: Sargasso” with a focus on the biology, chemistry and physics of the Sargasso Sea. This video clip looks ocean chemistry and the problem of Ocean Acidification. It touches on the cause of the problem, an experiment students carried out and current research into possible effects.

The Explorer program is a week long course offered by the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, aimed at introducing young adults to the marine environment through field trips, classroom activities and SCUBA diving.
