Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate to work on an Australian Research Council funded Discovery Project “Examining the vulnerability of ocean carbon biogeochemistry in a high CO2 world” within the Climate Change Research Centre at the University of New South Wales.
This project explores the vulnerability of the oceanic carbon sink and/or ocean acidification feedbacks in a high-CO2 world. This could include modelling ocean impacts of past greenhouse worlds from the geological record and/or future anthropogenic scenarios using new parameterizations of ocean acidification / biological feedbacks.
The candidate must have a good understanding of ocean biogeochemical cycles and experience with ocean / earth system modelling. They will be a valued part of Dr Ben McNeil’s research team at UNSW.
This is a full time position and is initially funded for 2 years, with the possibility for extension. There is much scope for the successful candidate to shape a role that suits their particular strengths, background and interests in this broad area.
Applicants should systematically address the selection criteria in their application.
