$74,806 – $99,122 p.a. including 17% superannuation.

Fixed-term, full-time commencing in April 2010 for a period of three years. IMAS is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a team of algal physiologists and carbonate chemists studying the impacts of ocean acidification on coccolithophorids with a focus on the Southern Ocean. The successful applicant will possess a PhD in phytoplankton physiology and/or carbonate chemistry, and a proven ability to publish in international journals.

The successful applicant will be contributing to an international research project using state-of- the-art technologies for manipulating algal cultures, seawater pH and carbonate chemistry. The main focus will be on laboratory studies, but it is also possible to participate in modelling and in field programs.
