The “Laboratoire Océanographique in Villefranche sur mer (LOV)” invites applicants to a 12 months position as Post doc. The main topic concerns the conception and validation of differential equation models of photosynthesis and calcification by calcifying species of phytoplankton. The candidate should be familiar either with modelling practice or with controlled chemostat experiments, or both. A good knowledge of the carbonate chemistry is desirable. In case where the candidate is easy with lab experiments, he will have to implement an automatic device to monitor the pCO2 in inflowing and outflowing gases.
The candidate must have a PhD degree. Important qualities are: good capabilities for cooperative work, sense of initiatives and ability to disseminate results. A positive attitude for cross-disciplinary research
is required. Ability to communicate in French would be useful but not compulsory. The candidate will collaborate directly with Antoine Sciandra and Olivier Bernard, and also with the EPOCA community of
Villefranche sur mer.
The net salary is according to CNRS regulations at 1800 euros per months (gross income 40 000 per year).
