If you are interested in learning more about ocean observations and carbon chemistry, come visit the Ocean Acidification Research Center (OARC) at our Open House. OARC has been monitoring the effects, intensity and duration of ocean acidification in Alaska’s waters since 2008. We currently maintain the Alaska Ocean Acidification Mooring Network and participate on research cruises in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, and the Arctic Ocean. OARC also collaborates with communities, schools, and industries in Alaska to help better understand ocean acidification. We will offer demonstrations of our analytical instrumentation, autonomous equipment, and shipboard measurements. Snacks and refreshments will be offered. Free admission.
