Cooperation of the IAEA Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-ICC) in the 4th International Symposium on the Ocean in a High-CO2 World, 3-6 May 2016, Hobart, Australia

First held in 2004, the International Symposium on the Ocean in a High-CO2 World is the largest international ocean acidification gathering and takes place every fourth year. The 2016 symposium (http://www.highco2-iv.org/) is expected to attract 500 scientists in the field, and will include themed sessions on “Ecological effects of Ocean Acidification”, “Changing Carbonate Chemistry of the Ocean”, “Advances in Ocean Acidification Research and Monitoring”, “Ocean Acidification and Society — Economics and Food Security”, “Mitigation of Ocean Acidification”, and “Global Change Multistressors”. The IAEA’s Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-ICC; http://www.iaea.org/ocean-acidification) will support the attendance of selected participants from eligible Member States to present their work and foster international collaborations.

Deadline for nominations through competent official authorities: 12 February 2016

Target group:

Grants are available for up to 15 scientists working on ocean acidification from developing countries. Applicants should have a university degree in marine biology, oceanography or a related scientific field.

Nomination Procedure:

Nominations should be submitted using the Grant Application Form. The completed form should be endorsed by relevant national authorities and returned to the IAEA through the established official channels.
