Scientific symposium on ocean acidification – The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm, October 2014

Ocean acidification is an environmental problem that has received considerable attention during the past decades. In the open oceans the link to the rising level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is clear. In the coastal waters surrounding Sweden the problem is much more complicated. The symposium will focus on the knowledge regarding the ocean acidification and its effect on the ecosystem in Swedish waters, but also what information is needed to assess ocean acidification impacts on the community and how this can be minimized. More information regarding the speakers and symposium programme will be published on the website (see below) in August 2014.
