Postdoctoral researcher in chemical oceanography

The Ocean Acidification Research Center (OARC) in the School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences(SFOS) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invites applications for one to two postdoctoral research positions in Chemical Oceanography to directly support projects funded by the NSF, NOAA, NASA, and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. We seek foremost sea-going applicants interested in interdisciplinary research focused on high latitude marine carbon cycling or ocean acidification processes to complement our existing research group. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field or be within six months of degree completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in making inorganic carbon measurements or utilizing carbon sensor technology. Applicants must be proficient in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. These hires will expand OARC’s already strong interdisciplinary programs focused on the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean. The positions are fully funded for one year at a rate of$52,000 with the potential for continued funding depending on job performance and progress.
