OA-ICC December calendar: 17/12- “OA research know-how”

Count down the days until 2015 together with the OA-ICC! Each day of December you will find a short story on the OA-ICC news stream highlighting an ocean acidification project, effort, or resource.

Guide to Best Practices for Ocean Acidification Research and Data Reporting

In response to the bursting interest in OA research and the resultant need to standardize research design and data management, a group of relevant international bodies and research institutions came together to conceive a comprehensive manual on OA experimental protocols. This international cooperation effort, started in November 2008 within the framework of the European Project on Ocean Acidification (EPOCA), resulted in the “Guide to Best Practices for Ocean Acidification Research and Data Reporting” – an essential tool for researchers and students entering the field of OA. The guide comprises chapters covering, among others, the CO2 system in seawater, approaches and utensils to manipulate carbonate chemistry, design of OA experiments, measurements of calcification, dissolution and other types of biological response to OA, modelling and data management.

The electronic version of the guide is available free of charge on the OA-ICC website.
