U.S. Senate Committee Hearing: “The Environmental and Economic Impacts of Ocean Acidification”
On April 22, the 40th an- niversary of Earth Day, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation heard testi- mony about possible impacts of OA from five American citizens. Witnesses included Jim Barry (Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Insti- tute), John Everett (Ocean Associates, Inc.), Tom Ingram (Diving Equipment and Mar- keting Association), Donny Waters (Commercial fisher- man, past president of the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholders Alliance), and Sigourney Weaver (actress).
