Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the School of Natural Sciences/Ryan Institute at the National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is with the CE2COAST™ project funded through JPI Oceans and JPI Climate and is available for 12 months, commencing on or after the 1st August 2021
The Ryan Institute is the National University of Ireland, Galway’s hub for Environmental, Marine and Energy research and contributes to some of the most important national and international, long-term, environmental, marine and energy research issues (http://www.nuigalway.ie/ryaninstitute/). Staff from a range of disciplines and schools across the University contribute to research in the Institute. Staff in the School of Natural Sciences are the main contributors to the project with which this post is associated. Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and participating in shore-based and sea-going surveys, planning and overseeing the collection and analysis of seawater samples and related data for ocean acidification and marine biogeochemistry research, collating and analysing existing oceanographic and coastal water data sets from Irish waters, report writing and preparation of scientific papers for publication, presenting research at scientific conferences and interacting with stakeholders. The post will be based in NUI Galway’s Ryan Institute.
