The postdoc will help design-build and test an electrochemical technology that enables local adjustment and control of seawater carbonate chemistry. They will be part of the Interdisciplinary project team (engineers, electrochemists, applied physicists, marine scientists, chemical oceanographers, and ocean modelers) will work together to build and field test the system while using measurement and modeling of the local seawater chemistry to verify safe operation. In addition, they will work closely with stakeholders and partners in offshore industries with the goal of commercialization at the end of the two year project.

  • Perform field tests to quantify the effect of the electrochemical process on seawater chemistry under real-world conditions
  • Perform tank experiments to quantify the effect of the electrochemical process on seawater chemistry
  • Communicate experimental results to and interact with project partners
  • Mentor students involved with this project
