Learn More About the Position:
The Program Coordinator, Ocean Acidification position will be responsible for developing content for partners and implementing engagement strategies that advance the program’s goals, as well as organizing and facilitating the day-to-day activities of the program and its team members. This position will include approximately 50% development of content for the program and taking an active role in partner and stakeholder engagement, and approximately 50% administrative and logistical responsibilities, such as event planning, meeting coordination and database organization.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities; develop materials and tools for communications and outreach for different audiences. Work with partners and across Ocean Conservancy programs to identify tools and engagement strategies that will advance the program’s goals.
• Conduct research, gather and analyze information on an array of subjects, ranging from federal policy to communications, to economics and fisheries, prepare materials such as presentations, summary documents and press compilations for internal and external audiences, and organize and attend events and meetings for the Ocean Acidification program, representing Ocean Conservancy as needed.
• Provide project and administrative support for the Director and other program staff, including organizing and coordinating activities and meetings, monitoring deadlines and project checkpoints, creating and maintaining files, editing and proofreading documents, managing and organizing project budgets, expenses, contracts and a stakeholder database.
• Provide logistical support for the Director and Program staff including travel arrangements, meeting/appointment planning, and calendar management. Monitors deadlines for the Director and provides appropriate reminders.

Required Qualifications:

• Passion for advancing the cause of ocean conservation.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in public policy or nonprofit organizations, preferably with some experience providing support for a multi-disciplinary team.
• Personable, productive, organized and strong attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, communications, or policy or relevant work experience preferred.
• A strong performer who can keep a larger vision in mind, is disciplined in adhering to deadlines and can produce deliverables in a timely, accurate manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand and articulate complex issues for diverse audiences.
• A team player who can bring the creativity, energy, discipline and commitment needed to support the program’s goals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in supporting a team.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and produce high quality work in tight time frames. Self- starter with the ability to respond to requests or move a project forward without in-depth research or explanation.
• Highly collaborative with an appreciation of a multi-disciplinary team approach.
• Familiarity with public policy, communications, conservation or the non-profit sector preferred.
