PhD position, Geochemistry Univ. Maryland Ctr.
The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) seeks immediate appointment of a Ph.D. student to study potential effects of ocean acidification on trace metal contents in biogenic aragonite, as part of a new NSF project. Applicants must have completed an M.S. degree. A strong background in analytical and physical chemistry is required. Experience with ICP-MS and micro-extraction techniques is advantageous, but not essential. Chemistry students with an interest in marine geochemistry are especially encouraged to apply.
